How we started
In 2012, a group of neighbors in Portland noticed that many families in their community lacked access to fresh produce. What began as a single vacant-lot garden has grown into a regional movement.
Today, Shoppers For Charity partners with schools, housing communities, and local organizations to create gardens that are more than places to grow food. They are classrooms, gathering spaces, and proof that collective action can transform a neighborhood.
We are farmers, educators, organizers, and advocates united by a simple belief: when we grow together, we thrive together.
